WE CAN"T IMAGINE LIFE WITH OUT THEM!

Thank you Cierra!! Bruno and Brooklyn are so cute!! <3

This is Bruno and Brooklyn (Bruno is the black brindle one) Both were found astray in NYC and ended up at a kill shelter in Brooklyn. Bruno was only supposed to be a foster (we already had 3 dogs when we rescued him) but we couldn't part with him! Both of these boys are the sweetest most loyal creatures and I'm so sad for the families that lost these awesome dogs! We couldn't imagine life without them. #adoptdontshop

WE COULD NOT IMAGINE NOT HAVING HER IN OUR LIVES!

Thank you Pamela! The name MISS PRINCESS COCO fits her to the "T" Gorgeous!

When I had to put my beloved Caesar down from liver failure I swore no more pets! My son was so heartbroken..... A friend suggested that we adopt an older cat because even though it would never replace him, it would fill that hole we were feeling. So after being put in touch with a wonderful, amazing lady, Nikki Green, we have our Miss Princess Coco just coming up on 2 years now! She is our love bug, she snuggles, chases her feather toys, sleeps with my son and cries for him like a baby! She is so beautiful and we could not imagine not having her in our lives. She sits on the computer table as my son tries to do his homework and knocks his pens over until he pets her under her chin!! She is too funny!! Thank LHS for our beautiful girl!

I LOOK AT HIM EVERYDAY & THINK THAT IF I DID NOT PLACE HIM ON RESERVE AT 11:50 A.M, HE WOULD NO LONGER BE HERE & THAT WOULD BE TRAGIC!

Thank you Teresa! Not only for saving Roland's life but for giving him a  loving home. <3

I was asked to share this story with you...

Just an update on Roland, now known as Brutus. Friday will make four weeks that I adopted this little cherub from the NYACC. He is adjusting nicely. 3 days and no accidents on the kitchen floor! Woohoo! He is incredibly sweet and loving...loves to cuddle and thinks he is going to take over my bed. He was pretty sick when I got him. Severe kennel cough, ...bad nasal discharge, and severely underweight. He is much better now and is eating me out of house and home. Howls for his 6 am 2 mile walk and loves playing with my other dog Olive, who is being so tolerant of this little pup. So glad I stumbled upon this website or I would not have found this little bundle of joy! Thank you for all of the hard work you all do in trying to help find homes. Roland had 10 mins left to adopt/foster or he would have been put down the evening that I got him. I look at him every day and think that if I did not place him on reserve at 11:50 am, he would no longer be here and that is so tragic

I TRULY BELIEVE BANDIT SENT HER TO US...

How beautiful is Fiona! Thank you Geri <3

I saw your comment on a picture I had posted to Tinton Falls Shelter, and decided to share Fiona's story.

Her story began on October 27, 2012 when Sandy hit the shores of NJ. Fiona had been surrendered to the shelter by her owners. On November 5, 2012, we had to put our 13 year old Husky, Bandit, to sleep. I think the storm, and losing power for several days, was too much for him. He had been ill ...but went downhill rather quickly. It was a very sad time at our home, my son and his family were staying with us because they lost their home in Union Beach to Sandy. I was online looking at Petfinder, when Fiona's picture popped up. It was a Sunday morning, something about her made me pause. I sent an email to the shelter, that afternoon, with my grandson, we went to see her, mind you it was only to look. I went with all the necessary documents to adopt her, that afternoon she became a part of our family. I recalled reading a Dog's Last Will and Testament and I truly believe Bandit sent her to us, you see, she was given up on Bandit's 13th Birthday.

We love it!

SOMETIMES, ANGELS HAVE FUR...

Thank you Tracy! Lucky is one gorgeous Kitty Kat! <3

This is the our handsome boy, Lucky. We adopted him December 2012. We lost our beautiful collie, Cassie, to bone cancer in September 2012. We truly believe she sent him to us to help heal our hearts! Sometimes angels have fur...

Isn't Lucky Gorgeous? Wow!!

SHE IS SO GRATEFUL TO BE RESCUED AND IS ENJOYING HER GOLDEN YEARS LIVING LIKE THE LADY SHE IS!

Thank you Brittney! <3

Absolutely adorable! Lady is so beautiful! Thank you not only for saving her but for even considering a senior. Opening your home and heart to Lady and showing her what it is to be "Loved at Last!"

My new addition, my baby girl, LADY. Lady was urgent and on death row in NYC a few months ago. I saw her picture on Facebook and plea for someone to adopt her. She's a senior, at 10 yrs young, and I immediately filled out an application, as I was looking to adopt a senior pittie. She has brought so much love, joy, and fun into my home! She is so grateful to be rescued and is enjoying her golden years living like the lady she is. Adopt/foster...it is SO rewarding :)

We love you Lady! Thank you for your submission!

"WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'D DO WITHOUT HER!"

What an AMAZING story! Thank you Shana! <3

Urgent Death Row Dogs recently shared our story and encouraged us to share it on this page, as well. You may recall the horrific dogfighting operation that was busted in Brooklyn last June 2013, from which nearly a dozen severely abused pitbulls were taken and brought to the NYCACC, only to be placed on the dreaded "To Be Destroyed" list without being given even the slightest chance to know what i...t felt like to be loved. As a reminder, please find the link to the news story here: http://brooklyn.news12.com/news/police-bust-alleged-dog-fighting-ring-in-brownsville-1.5517124

After only a month at the shelter, my Lilou (formerly "Love" in SAFE 85 folder) was repeatedly placed on the kill list in the latter weeks of July and early August 2013. As an avid supporter of Urgent Part 2 and its mission, I would see "Love" on the kill list every night and pray that someone would come for her, but they never did. I wanted to bring her home, but I already have an extremely high-maintenance shih-tzu who was rescued from an abusive home in the South and didn't think my boyfriend and I could handle another "needy" dog. But I couldn't get her out of my mind. I decided to follow my heart and went through Second Chance Rescue to bring "Love" to Rhode Island. Two days before she arrived at our house, my boyfriend proposed to me! We like to think that "Love," now Lilou, came into our lives at the most exciting time.

Fast forward to almost a year later. I'd be lying if I said it's been easy to integrate two extremely high-maintenance, needy and physically/emotionally scarred rescue dogs into our home. It's been one of the most challenging things we've ever done; but the love and joy they bring to us each and every day is worth every minute of frustration, lost patience and time & money spent. There is nothing on earth that would come between us and our dogs - not allergies, a new baby, a new home, financial troubles or the oft-cited "no time" - and believe me, Lilou and Oscar put us through absolute hell in the beginning, so we make this declaration with the scars and vet bills to prove it. In conclusion, I'm reaching out now with Lilou's "New Beginning" because we've come full circle, in a way, as she and Oscar recently stole the show during our engagement photo shoot.

Below, please find photos of Lilou (formerly "Love," adopted in August 2013), whom I thank God every day was spared from any further torture after three long years of being abused and forced to fight against her will. She joins her canine brother Oscar, me and her daddy, Dino, in the photos from our engagement shoot this month. She is the sweetest, most lovable girl in the world and is the perfect addition to our motley crew. We don't know what we'd do without her.

Thank you for allowing me to share Lilou's "New Beginning" with you.

"I CAN'T IMAGINE MY LIFE WITH OUT MY LITTLE RASCAL!"

Thank you for sharing - Donna! We love it! <3

This is the story of my adorable rascal, Tim (the girl!). A little over a year ago, my kitty of 18 years, sadly, passed away. I was heart broken and didn't want another pet right away. However, I decided it would be nice to foster an animal in need. So, I contacted Liberty Humane Society and they told me of an abandoned 2 day old kitten that desperately needed care. They told me to be prepared, as the kitten would most likely not survive without a mama cat at such a young age. I took on the challenge anyway. What followed was many sleepless (but wonderful) nights spent caring for the little baby. She was so small, we couldn't even determine her sex yet. Thus, I started calling her Tiny Tim, thinking she was a he! By the time I found out Tim was a girl, it was too late...the name had stuck. It was also too late for me to give this "foster" baby back...as I had fallen completely in love with her! I adopted her and am happy to report that she is healthy as can be, going on 1 year old now. I can't imagine my life without my little rascal.

I'm so happy I decided to foster and adopt :)

18 years! Wow! What a blessing. Our condolences and thank you for giving them such a loving home!

"THAT'S THE ONE!!

Thank you for sharing. Amazing! - Lauren, we love it!! <3

Hi! I adopted my cat, Angel, Liberty Humane Society on December 6, 2003. Her picture was on their website yesterday. I never had a cat before and had been going to different shelters in NJ to look at cats but wasn't finding the right one. The day we adopted Angel there was a big snowstorm but my young daughter wanted to go to LHS anyway. The minute she was brought out to us, my daughter said, "that's the one!" She is a amazing cat and a wonderful companion to all of us. We also now have a 7 year Beagle (Bailey) and a 6 year old Papillion(Daisy) that Angel enjoys keeping in line. We adopted Bailey too. We have an adopted bird named Pepito and he is a Parrolet. He is approx 9 years old. We have a fish tank that Angel likes to watch too.

Thank you so much for your submission!! What a beautiful story!

Welcome to Loved At Last Pets!

Welcome!

This page is brand new as you can see. Some of you found us throw our other blog "Pibbles In My City" here on BlogSpot or our FB page. Either way, thank you for coming by!

A little summary of how we came up with Loved at Last Pets. Pibbles In My City was created first to create awareness of the amount of pets of all ages and all kinds being brought to shelter's daily either by their families or by being found as stray. A lot of pets available for adoption are on our FB page under the same name. These pets are not under my possession and this page just helps share these animals so they can find loving homes. That is when Loved at Last Pets comes in.

After these wonderful pets find homes, wouldn't we all love to see how they are doing in their new homes? I know I would! And I know many of you would too. It's amazing seeing how they found love at last.

Therefore we would love for YOU to share pictures of your adopted /rescued pets and we will be creating a calendar. We would love to see how wonderful your pets have been since taking them home.

Keep In mind
-Please send your cutest and funniest picture of your pet
-Or the picture that means the most to you and your family
-We will not be able to choose them all BUT we will keep the photos in mind for the next calendar
-If your picture has been picked you will be informed and you will receive a FREE copy!
-Please do not write on your photos. Send a little Bio of your pets journey :)

Share your photos on our FB page Loved At Last Pets!

Good luck!!
